Car Collecting

If only us car guys had the funds and space we needed to pick up all of the cool cars that we’d love to have. I prowl through the online classified ads at Kijiji.ca pretty much every day looking for parts for my Roadmaster and my Parisienne. From time to time, I find stuff that I wasn’t necessarily looking for.

Yesterday I found a seller with a number of cars for sale that each looked spectacular for unrestored vehicles. What really interested me most was a 1948 Hudson Hornet. It’s a 1948 4 door sedan and it has a V6 Flathead and it reminded me a great deal of Doc Hudson from Pixar’s film “Cars”. Some of you may have noticed that I’m more than a bit of a fan of Pixar movies. In as much as I love the lines of the Hudson Hornet, it would be doubly cool if I had one in a colour similar to Doc from the movie. Doc was actually a 1951, Twin H Powered, 2 Door coupe and not a great deal similar to this one but that wouldn’t bother me if it was at least close.

Here’s a link to the seller’s ad as well as a picture of the car he’s selling.

  1. The Hornet model was introduced in 1951. Thie is either a ’48 or ’49 model (there are no differences visually).

  2. Thanks for the info! That’s cool to know. In as much as I love that Hudson body style I don’t know nearly as much about them as I’d like to.
