Meet “John Lassetire” from Cars 2

For those of you who are big Pixar fans, the name John Lasseter is said with reverence. Mr. Lasseter has been responsible for directing the vast majority of Pixar’s major hit movies. It appears that we are in for a director cameo in Cars 2. A cameo character who is a good old American pickup truck named John “Lassetire” will be in the new sequel. Apparently this was not Lasseter’s idea and he was quite surprised when he was asked to voice…himself in the new film.

“I did not know about that, so I was a little surprised. I ended up voicing this character. It was just one line, but now I have a Cars character. I’m very excited about that. He’s a good ol’ American pick-up truck, which I think is very appropriate for John Lassetire.”

We’ll all have to wait to hear John Lassetire’s one liner as well as all of the other exciting new characters once Cars 2 is released on June 24th.
