2011 Canadian International Auto Show – Camaro/Firebird Showcase

I made it to the CIAS show in Toronto yesterday. I haven’t been down to this show in a number of years. I was primarily interested in seeing the Classic Cars and the new concepts but I generally enjoy the whole show. While I still had a great time looking at the concepts as well as the new hybrids and electrics. The bulk of the show was a little bit of a disappointment but I’m sure everyone has heard my opinions about current auto designers and how none of them can create anything visually innovative anymore.

The Firebird/Camaro Showcase was extremely cool. Much of the area was a little dark and I wasn’t terribly pleased with the photos that I took there but it was nice to see some interesting cars amongst the cookie cutter shapes.

I have a number of other pictures of some really nice concepts and EV’s but let’s get started with the really nice stuff first.

  1. The 2010 Transformers Edition Camaro was especially cool. The owner had a vanity plate on it that said “BUMBLEBEE”, directly beside it was a slightly worn, yellow 1976 Camaro owned by the same guy with the vanity tag of “BEATERBEE”. Not sure why I didn’t get a picture of the two cars.
